Child Punishment

Have you ever scolded your child and he or she grins at you? Often this "smart" look makes parent's overreact. A child will try to pretend their misbehavior is a joke or funny and will grin to try to lighten the moment. Their tension and fear shows in their face and the grin can look maniacal. Never spank or punish a child because they grin or giggle at you out of nervousness. Time out (for the number of minutes a child is old) is the good parent way to go.
