Your Relationship Tip of the Day

CHOOSING TO RELAX

Do you get stressed out? We all do. How do you behave when you are stressed-- are you frustrated, short on patience, feel overwhelmed with too many things on your to-do list?
What can you do to easily relieve your stress? One of my favorite quotes is: The best time to relax is when you don't have time to relax. Today, in the midst of your busy schedule, stop and take 2 minutes just to relax and breathe. Taking just 2 minutes won't alter your schedule, yet in that time you will lower your blood pressure, get more oxygen into your lungs, and give your muscles a break. Your nervous systems will get a chance to re-group and your brain is appreciative of a break from productive thinking. A pretty good payoff for just two minutes of your time.
In relationships, what can you do to help lower your spouse, co-worker or family member's stress level?
The best way to reduce a woman's stress is to empathize with her feelings of being overwhelmed. Say to her, sincerely, "You do so much. I don't know how you do it all." Try it. It will work wonders.

The best way to reduce a man's stress level is to convey your trust. Allow him the time and space to work out problems in his own way. Over time, this will pay big dividends. Men and women experience stress differently. Remembering this one thing may save your relationship!

May you always grow in the ways of love,
